Citi's 2008 Citizenship Report

Our online Citizenship Report can be found at http://www.citi.com/citi/citizen. In 2008, Citi and the Citi Foundation made grants totaling more than $139 million in 89 countries and territories.

 

We are proud of the positive impact Citi continues to have on communities around the world through its core business activities, diversity efforts, volunteerism and Citi Foundation philanthropy.

 

Citi Foundation highlights in the Citizenship Report include:

 

·         $89.9 million in grants made to 89 countries and territories in our priority focus areas of Microfinance and Microenterprise, Small and Growing Businesses, Education, Financial Education and Asset Building and Community Development (U.S. and Canada)

·         Education: Committed more than $13.2 million to launch the Building Bridges to College and Career initiative in the United States

·         Financial Education and Asset Building: $28 million in funding was granted in 73 countries and territories, for a total of $148.9 million toward our 10-year, $200 million goal established in 2004

·         Volunteerism: More than 55,000 employees, family members and friends participated in 1,000 volunteer activities as part of Citi’s annual Global Community Day in 2008
